Deutsch Kerrigan hosts Loyola College of Law Moot Court Team for a practice round as the team prepares for their competition.

Loyola Moot Court On March 15, 2017, Deutsch Kerrigan hosted the Loyola College of Law Siegenthaler-Sutherland Cup National First Amendment Moot Court Team for a practice round as the team prepares for their competition. Team members Samantha Spitale and Scott Hamilton, coached by Loyola 3L Henry Gerbracht, presented oral argument to a panel of four Deutsch Kerrigan attorneys who served as Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States for the practice round. Special partners Suzan N. Richardson and Denia S. Aiyegbusi and associates Cassie E. Preston and Victor M. Jones comprised the panel, firing questions at the well-prepared student attorneys.

Deutsch Kerrigan associate Evan J. Bergeron serves as the advisor to the team and will travel with them to their competition in Washington, DC. Mr. Bergeron’s practice areas include First Amendment and Media Law. “I am so proud of the work these students have put in on such a complex and relevant topic. The questions from this practice round were some of the toughest we’ve seen, and the team delivered outstanding arguments.”

The Siegenthaler-Sutherland Cup National First Amendment Moot Court Competition takes place March 24-25, 2017 at the Catholic University of America and the Newseum in Washington, DC.
