Mr. Maestri devotes his maritime practice to representing oil and gas producers and their contractors, defending them against personal injury and property damage claims, and prosecuting claims on their behalf for property damage and lost oil and gas revenues.
Working in partnerships with his clients, Walter litigates cases arising under the Jones Act, general maritime law, collisions/allisions and offshore platform accidents.
He was voted a New Orleans Magazine Best Lawyer, CityBusiness “Ones to Watch”, and has a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of AV Preeminent.
Walter currently serves as Vice-Chair of the firm’s Marine & Energy practice group and is a member of the firm’s Finance Committee. He is the past Chair of the firm’s Recruiting and Diversity Committees. When he is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and working to perfect his award-winning barbeque.
