Growing up around the water drives Michael Amy’s passion for boating and the maritime industry. Michael works alongside businesses and insurers in the marine and energy industry representing them in tort, contract and insurance coverage disputes.
Michael is a maritime attorney who takes pride in instilling confidence and providing reassuring guidance to his maritime clients. He embraces the unique challenges presented by each case to discover new, novel legal issues. Using a pragmatic approach to litigation, Michael is able to remain focused on the goals of his clients to achieve a successful outcome.
Michael attended Tulane University Law School where he earned a Master of Laws in Admiralty, with Distinction. During his time at Tulane Law, Michael received two CALI Excellence For The Future Awards in recognition for obtaining the highest grade in Admiralty: Regulation of Shipping and Admiralty: Vessel Documentation & Finance. He was also selected to serve as a member of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal, and was chosen as the winner of the 2015 Maynard Cooper & Gale Admiralty Writing Competition.
