While attending Mississippi College School of Law, Phillip served as a member of the Moot Court Board. He also worked as a law clerk for a plaintiff firm handling personal injury suits and disability compensation for veterans who were injured or developed diseases during their service.

Prior to joining Deutsch Kerrigan, Phillip worked in another Gulfport, MS firm specializing in insurance defense. He assists his clients in insurance defense matters related to property damage, premises liability, professional liability, and personal injury.
