Architect and Engineer Liability - Wrongful Death and Survival Damages

Mr. McReynolds briefed and argued this case before the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal, which reversed a jury's verdict that awarded $13 million in wrongful death and survival damages arising out of a construction fatality on the expansion of the Huey P. Long bridge in Harahan, Louisiana. The Court held that Modjeski & Masters, the engineering firm that designed the roadway expansion, had no duty to supervise or inspect the work of the general contractor, or its subcontractors, and therefore no liability for the injuries.
