Insurance Beneficiary - Tonnas v. Stonebridge Ins. Co.
When a former wife sued an insurer to obtain proceeds from an insurance policy issued to her former husband, alleging that she remained the beneficiary even after their divorce, Ms. Adams represented the three daughters of the former husband. The suit was removed to federal court, and the insurer filed a third-party counterclaim against three of the former husband's daughters and the funeral home. The daughters moved for summary judgment, which was granted by the trial court.
