Briana Whetstone focuses her practice on commercial and insurance defense litigation, including medical malpractice matters, while also maintaining an entertainment and intellectual property practice. She represents clients in personal injury, premises liability, construction, products, and employment matters, handling cases from inception through resolution, including mediation, trial, and appeal.
Briana brings a rare blend of litigation experience and creative-industry insight to her practice. Prior to joining the firm, she practiced medical malpractice and personal injury litigation on both the plaintiff and defense sides, giving her a well-rounded perspective on case strategy and risk evaluation. She has successfully argued matters before the Louisiana Fourth Circuit and regularly advises clients through complex procedural and jurisdictional issues in state and federal courts.
In addition to her litigation work, Briana advises musicians, artists, filmmakers, chefs, and other creatives on intellectual property and entertainment matters. Her work includes trademark and copyright registration, licensing, contract negotiation, and brand protection. Before entering private practice, Briana worked in business affairs for a globally recognized entertainment and media company in San Francisco, where she handled copyright applications, managed international trademarks, drafted contracts, and helped develop company-wide social media policies.
Deeply committed to the New Orleans community, Briana regularly teaches workshops educating artists and musicians on copyright and contract fundamentals and is actively involved in several local cultural organizations, including the Krewe of King James, Krewe Bohème, and Krewe of Tucks. Though not a native New Orleanian, she proudly considers the city her home and is dedicated to supporting the creative and business communities that make it unique.
