Keith J. Bergeron represents architects, engineers and construction companies in construction-related litigation and surety matters. Keith investigates claims and serves his clients in all aspects of construction and surety law. He has particular experience in the areas of architectural and engineering defense, licensure claims, and contract-based litigation. He also performs pre-project contract reviews for design professionals to help them understand, mitigate and plan for the risks involved.
With a degree in engineering, Keith spent nearly a decade at Chevron as a mechanical engineer intern within its pipeline division, overseeing the transportation of crude oil and natural gas to onshore refineries. As a degreed engineer with design and construction experience, he offers his clients an added sense of confidence knowing that they share similar backgrounds and that he understands their type of work.
Keith is now the Immediate Past Chair of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law having served as its Chair during the bar year 2024-2025. Deutsch Kerrigan is the only Louisiana based law firm in the Forum’s history to have two attorneys serve as Chair–a fact that highlights the firm’s reputation in construction practice nationwide. Keith is proud to continue this legacy within the national construction bar, representing Deutsch Kerrigan's commitment to excellence and expertise in the field. Keith is also a regular speaker at his alma mater, University of New Orleans’s engineering school and numerous professional societies.
When not practicing law, Keith enjoys good company within a close-knit circle of friends.
