Deutsch Kerrigan Elects Four New Partners in Three Offices

Deutsch Kerrigan is pleased to announce that the firm has named four new partners in 2024:

Colin Casciato represents clients in various matters, including insurance defense and premises liability. He has experience handling cases from initial assignment, through discovery, to trial or settlement, and he uses this experience to advise his clients effectively. Colin is a 2018 cum laude graduate of Tulane University.

Doug Ortego practices in the Civil Litigation section of the firm’s Lafayette, Louisiana office. Doug’s practice focuses on insurance defense litigation, with experience in transportation claims. He also has extensive experience with admiralty matters including litigation involving personal injury claims, offshore construction matters, and vessel collisions/allisions brought by Jones Act seamen, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation (LHWCA) and other offshore workers.

Casey Wendling is in the Civil Litigation department in the firm’s New Orleans office. Casey has a diverse practice area defending clients in general negligence actions as well as commercial transportation, products liability, premises liability, and labor and employment cases. Casey received her J.D. from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2019 and received her B.A. from Villanova University in 2016.

Zach Wessler is in the firm’s Gulfport, MS office and his practice focuses primarily on defending professionals in liability claims filed in state and federal courts. He also has experience handling matters before regulatory, licensing, and disciplinary boards. Guiding professionals through the challenges associated with defending claims of professional negligence, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, errors and omissions, and malpractice is a hallmark of Zach’s practice. In addition to professional liability defense, Zach also handles complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage litigation, and matters involving premises liability, trucking/auto negligence, catastrophic personal injury, property damages.
